Images, assets & fonts

Bring your own media into a project and replace template imagery without losing the surrounding layout.

Where to find it

  1. Editor
  2. Assets

In this guide

An image applied to the intended layer, with suitable sizing and a useful description.

Before you start: Have your image files ready and open a site where you can upload assets.

On this page

Upload to the asset library

The Assets panel holds files for the current site. A template can also use bundled images that are already visible on the canvas.

  2. 2Assets panel. Browse available images, files, and fonts.

The Assets panel before your first upload.

  1. 1

    Open Assets

Choose Assets in the left rail. Use the Upload control in the panel header to choose your files.

  2. 2

    Wait for processing

Follow the upload status. Wait for the file to become available before applying it. If an upload fails, read the message and check its file type and size before retrying.

  3. 3

    Locate the file

Use the panel search and grid/list controls to find the asset. Use descriptive filenames to make a growing library easier to navigate.

Replace an image on the page

Select the image layer itself, rather than the section containing it. Image controls only appear for a compatible selection.

  1. 1

    Choose the replacement

In the selected image’s Style controls, use Browse to choose a site image, or Upload new to upload and replace in one flow.

  2. 2

    Review the crop

Check the image fit, position, and container dimensions. Keep the subject visible at Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile.

  3. 3

    Describe the image

Set meaningful alternative text when the image conveys information. Mark it decorative when it only adds visual decoration.

  4. 4

    Verify outside editing mode

Open Preview and check that the image loads at the intended size. Publish a new release to update the public site.

Use a custom font

Upload the font file through Assets, then select the text layer and use Style → Text → Font. Check that the font is actually available before evaluating spacing or line breaks.

If the inspector says a font is not imported, use Open Assets and resolve that missing resource. A fallback font can change both the appearance and the wrapping of text.

Before you move on

  • The uploaded asset has finished processing.
  • The replacement is applied to the intended image layer.
  • Informative images have useful alternative text.
  • The crop and text wrapping work on mobile.

Screenshots use a local sample workspace.
